Cheetah is a 2008 acrylic on board measuring 61 × 81.5 cm, painted during the same early period in which Viviers was developing his confident, expressive approach to animal portraiture. The cheetah, nature's fastest land animal, is rendered with an energy that feels appropriate to the subject: alert, precise, and intensely focused.
